Redang Island is located on the North East coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, just off the South China Sea. Redang Island shot to fame internationally since it became the setting of a famous blockbuster movie from Hong Kong called “Summer Holiday” starring famous stars Richie Ren and Sammie Cheng.

Redang island is especially famous for its long white sandy beach, well-preserved corals, crystal-clear blue sea, fun water activities such as diving and snorkelling. Take a visit to this pastel shack called More More Tea Inn - this shack is totally instagrammable! Another Malaysian gem to add into your bucket list: Perhentian Island, located off at the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia, right next to Redang Island. Perhentian Island is a place where you grab your cocktail and just relax at the beach, overseeing the crystal blue ocean. It is another diving/ snorkelling spot to discover a diverse aquatic life.

Unlike Redang Island, Perhentian Island is very much less commercialised, so it has fewer tourists and if you're looking for the perfect island to unwind from your busy city life, Perhentian Island it is!

Kapas Island is often overlooked by everyone. Just like Perhentian Island as mentioned above, if you are looking for a less crowded island for a relaxing holiday, this is the perfect getaway island. Expect exquisite (empty) beaches and breathtaking sunsets. Keep your eyes peeled for Kobe the owl which usually hands out at Captain Longhouse during the day.

Mabul & Sipadan islands are located in Tawau, Sabah, East Malaysia. Sabah is known to be rich in gorgeous islands and beaches with diverse aquatic and beautiful corals.

Sipadan Island is a world-famous diving spot. However, due to its conservation efforts, Sipadan island limits its daily visitors. Diving in Sipadan requires bookings in advance.

Because of its close proximity to Sipadan, nowadays Mabul island is a popular destination and also there is affordable accommodation available as well. A trip to Mabul island is not complete without visiting the Bajau Laut Village, known to be home of the legendary “Sea Gypsies”. Go on an island-hopping on smaller islands such as Kapalai & Mataking.
